What is Cub Scouting?
The Boy Scouts of America organization includes
three areas; cub scouting, boy scouting, and venturing. Cub Scouting is a

years of age. Cub Scouting is designed to teach values such as
citizenship, character development, personal fitness, and spiritual growth.
Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. There are many
hands-on activities. Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to
achieve the ten purposes of Cub Scouting:
- Character Development
- Spiritual Growth

Membership
The members of the scouts sign up with the
local Pack. The Pack is the primary group that includes all scouts in
first through fifth grade. Within the pack, there are several Dens.
Each den is broken down into similar age groups, normally grade specific.
The dens in Lowell Pack 9 include:
- Tiger Cubs -- First Grade
- Wolf Cub Scouts -- Second Grade
- Bear Cub Scouts -- Third Grade
- Webelos Scouts -- Fourth & Fifth Grade
The den meetings are each Tuesday at 6:30pm,
normally held at the Lowell First Baptist Church. Each den meets
individually and engages in various activities. Once each month, all of
the scouts and their parents get together and hold a pack meeting in lieu of the
weekly den meeting. Other activities are scheduled at various times
throughout the year.
